It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.
